Going Green at Home
Posted by: admin | Category: UncategorizedSo you’re working on making your house a “greener” place and you’ve started to get overwhelmed with all the information you’ve found. Here are a few tips from us on the easiest, biggest impact changes you can make in your home to really save the planet.
Switch Energy Providers: More and more, energy providers are coming up with ways to practice safer, greener ways of dolling out energy. Companies like Texas Stream Energy are paving the way for green technology and switching may make sense financially, too.
Stop Wasting Water: One of the biggest ways we’re draining the planet is by using so much water, most of it through flushing. Simple changes that can be made include low-flow shower heads, low-flow toilets and a tankless water heater. They’re worth the extra upfront investment in the long run.
Start Composting: It’s an easy and fun activity to do with your family and it’s great for your yard, too. Buy a small composter and get to work – there are plenty of ways to make your own mulch.
Change Your Bulbs: Switching your lightbulbs to more energy efficient models is a great way to save some therms. Some energy providers will actually send you free bulbs if you apply online, so look into it.
